This restaurant totally took me by surprise. My girlfriend and I were visiting a good friend in Vero Beach and he suggested the Melody Inn Restaurant as a place to get exquisite, authentic Swiss-French cuisine. He knew that after living in Chicago for some time, our tastes and expectations for quality meals has grown. I hate calling ourselves "foodies", but we have come to appreciate when restaurants provide excellent food and and service and we no longer hesitate to provide constructive feedback. I expected it to be good, but not this great. Anytime we go back to Vero Beach, we will absolutely eat there. We started with the Escargots Bourguignon as one of our apps. Escargot is definitely not for everyone, but I do encourage people to be adventurous whenever possible. If someone were to try escargot for the first time here, it is so good, they might actually be ruined for it at many other places! Generally you will find that chefs will prepare it with a lot of salt, butter, and maybe garlic and the only thing you notice from the snails is the chewy texture. In the Bourguignon style, I felt it was more complex in that you weren't rushing to swallow the snails, because as you chewed it, the cognac and herb-wine butter flavor intensified. I've never had escargot in this style before, but I can easily say it was the best prepared dish of escargot I have EVER had. The Swiss Raclette cheese dish was also a starter and it was cooked very nicely. It was a melted cheese that you can spread out on bread, not to be confused with the Swiss cheese that has holes. It also came with potatoes, pickles, and pearl onions that added nice flavors to the cheese. We had the Prince Edward Island mussels as an appetizer. These were prepared in a garlic and white wine sauce and cooked to perfection. I don't recall a single shell being unopened (sign of undercooking) nor any of the mussels being too tough (sign of overcooking). The sauce wasn't overwhelming and the actual taste of the mussels were retained. For her entree, my girlfriend had the Chicken Grenobloise. This was cooked to tenderness and juiciness, lightly breadcrumbed, and served with capers and lemons. As you can tell from the amount of appetizers we had, she did not finish this at the restaurant, but said it still tasted delicious when reheated the next day. I had the Veal Medley which included the Wiener Schnitzel, Veal bratwurst, Veal Zurich, and Veal Morels. For anyone who has been to Austria or Switzerland, this should bring back memories. These traditional dishes are what I imagine a small mountain town in Switzerland would have eaten on the home table. I won't describe each one as the review is already getting lengthy, but I will say it is a good "sampler" for one or two people who want to try several veal dishes! Finally, we shared the Café Glace Tia Maria for dessert. We are both coffee/espresso lovers and were thoroughly pleased. It is a coffee/vanilla bean ice cream that isn't too sweet. Very much recommend, although I wish we would have had room for another dessert. The wine list appeared to be of a good length and quality, but in all honesty, I don't remember which wine we had. I do recall thinking it was good and I will leave it at that. As mentioned in an earlier review, most of the patrons were of the retired age. We still didn't feel out of place even though we are in our late 20's. Chef Margaret came out to greet almost everyone at one point or another and you could sense she has a loyal customer base by the rapport she seemed to share with many of them. Our server, Sami, was very nice and prompt. I can't recall thinking we were ever waiting for anything. Overall, a place I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Oh, and to top it off, on your way out they give all the ladies a small box of candy truffles that were made that day!

We went there recently for our 37th Anniversary. The service was nice and understated. i started out with the Onion Soup which was full of onion and beef flavor and was not over-topped with cheese as is so common in many places. My wife had a Bratwurst appetizer which she said was excellent. For my main course I had the Crab Cakes Calypso. The cakes were full of crab with just the right amount of breading so it did not overshadow the crab meat. My wife had Swiss Veal Zurich 'Zuri Gschnatzlets with spaetzel which she proclaimed excellent. We both had tomatoes stuffed with spinach and cheese as a side which were firm and full of flavor. The Wine List is small but had good choices and we picked a nice German Riesling that was reasonably priced. For desert I had the Apple Crisp and my wife had Coupe Toblerone "Chantilly" which included a scrumptious chocolate sauce made from seven different types of chocolate. All in all an excellent meal and reasonably priced for the quality of the food. We will return.

What a great restaurant, Yelp reviews does it again! The entrees were great and desert was fantastic. While a traditional european menu, the preparation was excellent and the food tasted like an exquisitely-cooked home meal. Half-priced wines on Tuesday was an added bonus. Definitely one of the best values in Vero.

Amazing find! So good we had to go back twice within our 10 day vacation :) Thank you, and we will be back!

I think I may have found my new favorite restaurant, the Melody Inn pairs amazing European cuisine with a comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel very welcome. The decor placed us in a very romantic and cozy setting and the service was attentive without being overwhelming. Our second visit was on a Tuesday night to take advantage of the 50% off wine that is their special that night. My wife enjoyed the snapper filet and I had the most tender filet mignon. Oh and the best part was getting a complimentary box of truffles after our meal, let me say the night ended well! Highly recommended.

I've had the pleasure of dining at the Melody Inn on more than one occasion and every time the food and service have been nothing short of amazing. Whether you're visiting the area or reside in Vero Beach, you really should treat yourself to dinner at the Melody Inn. I was a complete newbie to Swiss-French cuisine and had no idea what to expect. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. I've tried something new every time and have always been blown away by the flavor. The escargot and wiener-schnitzel are classics and a treat for the taste buds. It's obvious to see that the food is prepared from scratch by a chef that actually cares about the quality and authenticity. Even if you're full by dessert (which you will be), go head and get the tia maria, it's amazing. Their key lime pie is also the best I've ever had. They use real key lime juice that's freshly squeezed and you can really taste the difference. Simply put, the Melody Inn is a complete treat on every visit. The authentic decor and specialized menu make it a memorable experience every time. I highly recommend!

This is our second snow bird winter in Vero Beach and the first time at Melody Inn. It is in the center of the Arts District with charming ambiance. One of the best finds was that all wines are half price on Tuesday so we splurged on a fine premier cru burgundy. I had the veal special which was delightful with mushrooms flown in from Portland OR. My husband had the beef stroganoff made with tenderloin and a wonderful sauce. The potatoes Au gratin were outstanding the the sides of beets and red cabbage were a perfect compliment to the meal. We almost didn't go because of the recent bad review that appeared to be a disgruntled employee but, we were happy we did.

This restaurant is a rare gem in a sea of mediocrity! Everything about it from the first bite of the fresh crusty bread to the last bite of desert was off the scale excellent. My wife had the pork cordon bleu with Rosti potatoes and pickled beets and I had the beef stroganoff with Spatzel and red cabbage. The food was prepared to perfection and served piping hot by attentive professional staff. Every bite was a flavor sensation, a direct result of preparation using the highest quality ingredients. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who truly appreciates a fine dining experience. The atmosphere was neat, clean and very European. Not the easiest to find but your effort in finding the place will prove to be very much worth it!

Whenever friends come into town, I love to take them here! The food is authentic Swiss/French cuisine. You honestly cannot go wrong with any of the menu items, and I think it's a nice touch that all the ladies at the end of the meal get mini chocolate truffles. If I could eat here once a week I would :) It reminds me of the food I used to eat when I live in Europe.

This is one of the best dinners I've ever had. Everyone in my family is picky and everyone loved what they had: beef stroganoff, pompano, and grouper specials. Impecable service as well. You must try the stuffed tomatoes, and the beets there are the only ones I ever eat. Amazing.

We eat out a lot on the Treasure Coast and thought we pretty much knew where all the "good" places were found. Well new friends told us about their little secret in Vero Beach. Melody Inn was wonderful. The 4 of us had a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Everything was perfect from escargot, pickled beets, veal medley, spetzel to the 7 Swiss Chocolate topping on the vanilla bean ice cream. Did I mention espresso? Gwen was an outstanding sales/server person that undoubtedly loved the product that Melody Inn produces. Next time I will start with Classic Beef Carpaccio.

Food was delicious! From the champagne cocktails at the start to the house made chocolate truffles at the end, the meal was amazing. I'll go back any time I'm in the area!

Best restaurant in Vero. I like the mushroom caps with lobster and the escargo appetizers. You have to have the beets side and spatzle. For entres I love the veal medley or any fish dishes. Yum!!!!

This quiet unassuming little restaurant is a hidden gem. We live in the area and have eaten there about half a dozen times. The atmosphere is intimate, even posh. The menu is limited but imaginative, offering traditional Swiss/French fare. The food is well prepared and presented. They have a good wine list. Highly recommended

If you're in the mood for old-school, European-style heavier food, this is the place. Be aware -- like many places in Vero, it's populated by the retired crowd, but even though it's an old-school vibe, it doesn't feel "tired." The servers have good energy, which really helps. Our server, Becky, had a great sense of humor, which livened up the experience. Brought my (retired) parents here the other night -- they really enjoyed it, too. Good for the whole family!
